05/29/26 - Borough Market trip (The First of Many)

Image
I'm excited to report back on our much-anticipated trip to Borough Market. Highlights included The Black Pig's "The Best One" sandwich, Wild Mushroom Risotto, chocolate-covered strawberries, and truffle oil. Pro tip: Most of the stalls are happy to give out free samples if you ask nicely :) After our taste-testing adventure, we crossed London Bridge to visit the hidden garden at St. Dunstan in the East. I ended the night with karaoke at O'Neill's! Love, Megan

05/30/26 - 11 miles in Cambridge

On the first day of our British Life in Business class, our instructor, Mr. Graham Bolton, gave us one motto to live by during our time here: Learn By Wandering Around (LBWA).  Safe to say Cambridge was a perfect example of this approach.  We walked 25,000 steps across the city, hitting 11 miles on our trip. The campus was gorgeous and sprawling, just like Oxford.  My favorite part of exploring was pretending to be prospective students so we could walk into the gated colleges. Snapped a picture of the Corpus Clock!  We saw some beautiful churches, including the famous King's College Chapel, th...

I woke up this morning to a rainy Vienna. While we were getting ready, we could hear the rain pounding against the skylights in the loft. Thankfully, it stopped right as we headed out for coffee. My cappuccino was perfect. We hopped back on the U-Bahn and headed into town to visit the Rosengarten. The edges of the garden were lined with rose bushes in all different shapes and colors, each labeled by variety. It was so pretty, and you can imagine how heavenly it smelled.  The garden reminded me of UF’s Wilmot Botanical Gardens, where I volunteer back at school. Similarly, they showcase all different species of camellias.     We downloaded the WienMobil app and bought day passes, which was definitely a good move transportation-wise. They don't always check for tickets, but it's better to be safe than sorry. The U3 Volkstheater station looked like an art museum: Before exploring Vienna's palaces, we grabbed a quick lunch at Wiener Grill Haus, where I got SCHNITZEL, roasted p...
